how to add panels to twitch

Setting up your Twitch channel can be overwhelming. There's so many graphics to include and so little time or expertise to create everything you need, especially the Twitch panels.

You might be tempted to hire a designer or buy stock panels from a design company. On the other hand, you want them right now and you'd rather not spend a dime. Luckily, you can make Twitch panels for free with Kapwing's image editor and the simple instructions below:

  1. Set the resolution
  2. Design your panels
  3. Publish and download
  4. Upload to Twitch

1. Set the resolution

First, open Kapwing Studio and click 'Start with a blank canvas'. Next, select 'Custom Size' from the top right and enter '320' for the width and '100' for the height.

Note: Twitch states on the panel editor, "Images will be scaled to 320px wide," but you can still experiment with different heights. I recommend 100px high.

2. Design your panels

The design of your panels is up to you. However, I recommend keeping things simple. For this tutorial, I changed the background color, uploaded a logo (via copy and paste) and added one word of text.

Kapwing has a full suite of tools to customize your panels, but remember that going live for your audience is more important than obsessing over design elements.

3. Publish and download

When you're done, click 'Publish' in the top right to process the design. Then, click 'Download' and save the image to your device.

4. Upload to Twitch

After that, open your Twitch channel and select the 'About' section. Scroll down to the panels and activate the 'Edit Panels' button.

Next, click the big plus sign, choose to add an image panel and upload the design. Finally, click 'Submit' and deactivate the 'Edit Panels' button to look at the finished product!

Now, you can repeat this process and change the logo and text to create more panels that match your overall brand. That's just one way Kapwing makes creativity easy!
